Dr. Behnke loves the daily variety that general veterinary practice brings ranging from managing chronic endocrinopathies to treating skin abscesses. Dr. Behnke's primary interests in veterinary medicine include infectious disease, preventative medicine, dentistry, and surgery.
Dr. Behnke grew up in the Chicagoland area. She graduated from Augustana College with a double major in Biology and Spanish. Dr. Behnke graduated with honors and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Behnke earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois. After graduation, Dr. Behnke worked at a practice in the Chicago Suburbs before beginning here at Forest Glen Animal Hospital.
Dr. Behnke is a member of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of the office, Dr. Behnke enjoys riding her bike around the city, finding new places to go hiking, or hanging out at home with her cat Lexi.
