Dr. Ferguson’s path to pursue a career in veterinary medicine was solidified in high school when she rescued Lexi, a gorgeous and kindhearted Australian Shepherd mix. This adoption enabled her to build a strong relationship with their family veterinarian and witness firsthand how rewarding a career as a veterinarian can be.
Dr. Ferguson believes that an important role of a veterinarian is to nurture the human-animal bond throughout the entire lifetime of your pet. She loves the brand-new puppy and kitten appointments just as much as she enjoys the continued follow-up care of your pet as they grow with your family.
Dr. Ferguson grew up in North Carolina where she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She further earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at North Carolina State University. She has received additional training through the completion of Fear Free certification and has been recognized for excellence in small animal surgery. Her professional interests include internal medicine, anesthesia and pain management, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Ferguson strives to be an active member of the veterinary community with memberships in the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, she loves to volunteer with community organizations, cheer on her favorite sports teams, and recently has enjoyed exploring the beautiful city of Chicago!
